Harbor is developed by an independent developer, not a company. This policy explains what information Harbor collects, how it's used, and the choices you have — written in plain language rather than dense legal text.

Who this applies to

This Privacy Policy covers the Harbor iOS app ("Harbor," "the app," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using Harbor, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to run the app:

We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers, and Harbor contains no third-party advertising or ad-tracking SDKs.

How we use your information

Who we share information with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising purposes. We use a small number of service providers to run Harbor, each of which only receives what it needs to do its job:

We may also disclose information if required to by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Harbor or its users.

Data retention & deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data — journal entries, mood history, saved verses, and your profile — at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the app. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.

Your choices

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data appropriately for what it is — personal journal content.

Children's privacy

Harbor is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Not a substitute for professional care

Harbor is a personal journaling and reflection tool with a Christian foundation. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care, medical advice, or pastoral counseling. If you're in crisis or need to talk to someone now, please reach out to a licensed professional or a crisis line in your area.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Harbor changes. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate, notify you in the app.
